Born in Germany, Christine grew up in Berlin. Her father was captured on the Russian front and taken as a POW for six years. It was a difficult childhood because of World War II. Christine soon acted as a second mother to her little brother, Arno, because her mother had to work. Christine graduated from high school in Germany and quickly landed a job in the manufacturing of ladies clothing. A young Austrian man, named Mike, relocated to the United States in the early 50's. He was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Berlin where he met Christine. In 1955, he sponsored her as a bride and they were married. It was a beautiful wedding and a love affair that was honest and pure. They were meant to be together. Their favorite song was Little Things Mean A Lot, by Kitty Kallen. The couple went on to have two beautiful daughters. Christine would sing the song, High Hopes, with the whole family. Together, in a true partnership, Christine and Mike created a successful furniture manufacturing business in Customcraft. Their employees remained with the company for 20 to 35 years each, because they were treated with respect. In her strength and resolve, Christine shared one clear message with everyone in her life, whether it was her children, her husband, her friends, or employees:   "You can accomplish anything you want to do." Christine will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and her love of life. We love you, Christine...
