Ellen Louise Carles was born in 1951, to James and Edith Carles. Her father was a Baptist Minister while her mother was a homemaker. Ellen always had a wonderful heart and she would do anything for anyone. She inherited her giving spirit from her Grandma and Grandpa Wyers. Her relationship with her grandparents was very important to her because they loved her unconditionally.

Ellen went on to have four children: Tammy, John, Daniel and Machel. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Peter Kalicki. Their early years were wonderful because together they made a really good couple. They had a lot in common and spent time at the beach. She enjoyed the ocean so much. There were also tent camping vacations and fishing trips with the kids. She was active in school on the PTA for her children. She loved being a mom to so many and enjoyed time with other kids, especially Tiffany. Ellen also liked being a grandma to her five grandchildren. She read stories, played games and helped to educate them. In her free time, she was extremely creative with sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, cross-stitching and beading. She was very talented and shared her passion for arts and crafts with Machel, who is now sharing it with her children. Ellen also enjoyed music, loving the sounds of Patsy Cline.

Remembered as a good mother, grandmother and friend, Ellen will be missed for many things. Her family will miss her smile and those times when she was the happiest in life. Her family believes her advice to others would be to live your life, enjoy everyone around you and tell them that you love them. Most importantly, make the most of every day and be kind to yourself. Ellen always told everyone, "I love you." In the end, she shared her good-byes with family and in her final moments, her husband was by her side. She had a wonderful heart, soul and giving spirit. She is now at peace.
