The site of Olga’s birth was Antofagasta, Chile. As a child, Olga played the piano and sang. She had a beautiful voice. She and her husband had four wonderful children. Soon, she was a widow and found herself supporting the whole family. In fact, she sacrificed everything for her children to have a full education. She had so many gifts. She was a wonderful cook. She would knit and crochet throughout her life, skills she could use to help children, by making baby clothes. One of the books she fell in love with was Gone with the Wind. She read it several times because she could identify with Scarlett O’Hara who was like her, "privileged and very determined." Olga came to the United States in 1973. At the age of 83, Olga Amanda Contreras became a Citizen of the United States of America. She was proud to vote. She loved Disneyland and her novellas. She was an avid reader who also loved classic Mexican Joke Books. Olga Amanda Contreras will be remembered for the way she lived her life…she will be remembered as a positive thinker, who danced through life. We enjoyed her for 99 amazing years...now, may God enjoy her as well.
