Johnny Dietz started playing the piano at the age of 4. As children, he and his brother would take the trolley to the ocean to go fishing. He loved fishing. He also loved playing the piano Boogie Woogie style. He loved Jazz, Big Band, and always had his own band or he was part of a band. One of his greatest musical influences was Art Tatum, a blind Jazz Piano Player. Johnny worked for 40 years at Pacific Bell. During the weeknights and weekends, he would perform with his band. His favorite TV shows were The Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. After his stroke, he showed his strength, patience, and determination toward recovery. He set a good example for his 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He showed a great love for his family. Johnny always told his family, "I love you." He will be remembered forever as caring, intelligent, and a great example to everyone. His passions in life were fishing and music. Johnny Dietz had an amazing life journey. |
