	Celebrating Life Everyone Has A Story...

Ruth Jacobsen Luetscher was born in Luebec, Germany. She was the oldest of five children, closest with her brother Knud. She left the farm in Luebec and went to boarding school in Switzerland. She always dreamed of being a professional seamstress one day. At the age of 16, she went to England and became a nanny. She traveled and made many friends. When she traveled to Paris, she saw Russian born-French painter Marc Chagall with his students, teaching painting class on the sidewalk. In Hamburg, Germany, she was one of the first people to see the Beatles in a little club where they first played together. She moved to Berlin where she worked on a U.S. military base and met Buck Luetscher. They fell in love and he sponsored her as a bride. They returned to the United States as husband and wife. They went on to have two beautiful daughters. The couple grew apart and Ruth returned to the workforce with strength and independence as a single mother. She always took the time to support her children by sewing and designing their costumes for ice skating or serving as team mom to her daughter's tennis team. Ruth loved bowling and was an excellent dart player with precision. She also loved reading Danielle Steele books and listening to Roy Orbison or Classical Music. She loved her positions at Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction. Her friends remember one of her biggest assets was her culinary talent. She made dozens of cakes for friends around holidays. She was especially known for her Irish Whiskey Coffee Cakes. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her compassion, and her loyalty. Every time we stand up for ourselves, we will remember Ruth Jacobsen Luetscher and know she would approve...
