Born in Mississippi, little Earnestine joined 2 older sisters. The family always called her Tina. As a child, she was closest with her sister Margaret, who was 14 years older. Margaret, in many ways, acted as a second mother to Tina. The family moved to Tennessee and then onto California. Tina graduated from Hollywood High School where she went to school with actor Jackie Coogan. One of the Little Rascals was also smitten with her. Tina always dreamed of being an actress one day. Tina married at 19 and had two children, Howard and Bill. After a few years, the couple divorced and later Tina remarried and had two more children, Denise and Robert. Those early years were wonderful. The kids remember watching Tina cook in the kitchen and sharing her skills with them. She made the best Pineapple upside down cake and a fantastic Banana Cream Pie. On Sunday nights, they ate old style homemade waffles with syrup. They also were the first family on the block to put in a swimming pool. On weekends or holidays, they spent time on a second property in Wrightwood. Tina started her acting career at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. She spent 7 years acting in plays on the stage. She spread her acting wings into roles on television shows such as Into the Night and Saved by the Bell. She also performed in the movies such as The Image with Albert Finney, Hero starring Dustin Hoffman, and Fearless starring Jeff Bridges. She was proud of her acting work. Tina is survived by 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a gardener who loved tending to her roses with special names like Sexy Rexy Rose, The Peppermint Stick Rose, or the Lincoln Rose. She loved traveling, especially to France. She was a work of art who could make you laugh and bring you joy. She was silly and yet, loving, gentle and kind. Mom, we love you...
